Being a great DJ starts with creating super strong foundations. By the end of this section you’ll know the main features of all DJ gear. You will be able to find and download the right music, at the right quality, and then prepare your music, in the DJ software relevant to the gear you have. I’ll even teach you how to create the perfect playlist so when you hit the decks you will build momentum very quickly. Then we’ll jump into beat matching, phrasing and dive deeper into the mixing process. The outcome: you’ll be thinking way less when mixing and instead you’ll know what to do at the right time every time and DJing will become second nature.
People always say to me being a DJ is about knowing your tracks. Yes that helps, but what’s more important is knowing music in general. In this section I will break down the formula used to make tracks that every artist and producer follows. I will also break down the best places to mix to assure all your transitions sound world class and then how to map your tracks with cues to bring a new level of professionalism to the way you mix.
PROFESSIONAL MIXING STYLES
By the end of this section you will know how to DJ all genres of music like the pro’s. There are ways to transition between genres and also ways of using the EQ that will transform the way you mix. We’ll also cover looping and FX and by the end of this section your progress would have skyrocketed to a point that your friends will be speechless - you’ll have the skills needed to hit the club scene guaranteed.
The Club Ready DJ Course (this section alone) is what students learn in Sydney (in my one on one classes) and by the end of this section they are club ready every single time.
